YTL Summit 2025 Application Requirements

Applications for the YTL Summit 2025 Are Closed


We are looking for someone who is…

  • Looking to develop further as a leader in your respective field or area of expertise
  • Passionate about strengthening the trilateral ties between the U.S., Republic of Korea, and Japan
  • Eager to meet and partner with other youth leaders in the region to act on pressing challenges in the region
  • Looking to develop further as a leader in your respective field or area of expertise
  • English language fluency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
  • Between the ages of 18-35 years old.
  • Citizens of the United States, Republic of Korea, or Japan – with priority given to those who are currently living in their home country.*
  • For citizens of a Southeast Asian Country or Pacific Island – must be an alumnus of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) or Young Pacific Leaders (YPL) program and nominated by their U.S. Embassy.   • A history of excellence in local and regional youth leadership activities.

*U.S. Federal Government Employees and contractors are not eligible to apply.


Application Notes

  • This program does not give preference to any academic major or minor. Individuals from all disciplines and academic backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to apply. Applicants do not have to be a current student to apply.
  • Selected participants must be able to attend the virtual engagement sessions (to be held on weekends) and the YTL Summit in the summer of 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
  • Selected participants must also be willing to take part in follow-up alumni activities after the summit.

  • The application opens in mid-December and usually closes mid-January
  • Please complete all parts of the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
